My grandma Jousma was born in the 1920s. She was born in Jackson, but grew up in Grand Rapids. I found out she grew up in the same neighborhood that I grew up in. I didn’t know that when I was growing up. I even lived on the same street she did for a short time in my childhood.

A favorite new find of mine are these pictures of my grandma from her high school yearbook.
Smith Memorial Congregational Church
I found this newspaper clipping of my grandmother’s wedding announcement. Grandpa Vern and grandma were married in 1945. One of my aunt’s saw the picture and she said she didn’t think it looked like her, but it’s definitely her. I think since my grandma is 94 this year my aunt has really only seen her as old for longer than when she saw her as young. Such a great find.
